Crafty British imports part 2

Behold the other fun little book I ordered from waaaaaaay over there!

Now for the ridiculous part (aside from ordering it overseas and then having my Mother In Law carry it all the way here) is that I can’t knit. But I totally plan to learn now. I mean how cute are these?!

Good thing I work in a profession that is mostly women. I’m sure I can bribe someone at work to teach me the ropes!

  1. I adore this! So cute. I can’t knit either, but I love making crocheted mug cozies. In fact, that’s what many people on my Christmas list are getting this year! I wandered over here from Freckled Nest and I can’t wait to check out more.

  2. Oh my gosh, I love those! I use a ceramic mug for my tea at work, and it looks like I need to learn how to make a mug cozy now!

  3. Those look like so much fun! And more reason for me to learn how to knit!

  4. good luck with learning all about knitting. Look up Stich and Bitch groups in your area too. There are groups all over the world who get together and do knitting and whatnot. They might be able to teach you some tips, if your co-workers can’t:)

  5. Also visiting from FN.
I can only knit a scarf, and am seeing these as totally doable!
    New project? I think so!
    Great post!

  6. I have dropped NUMEROUS hints about this book to family members visiting from the UK. If I get it (oh please mammy) I’m planning to post a tutorial so you can work along with me if you’d like :) x

  7. Visiting from FN, but oh how lovely your blog is!! I need that book right this very minute! As if I needed more excuses to drink cofee…

  8. I want that book so much! I put in on my Christmas list so I dearly hope i got it!

  10. i’m still learning on how to knit. hope i can make one like that soon ;)
    thanks for sharing dear..

  11. what a great idea. I like knitting, but it does seem a little boring to have to stick to a pattern for a long time. So this sounds like a great alternative.

  12. Oh my goodness, are these cute!!!!
Have to check whether I can ordre that book here in Germany. (I do LOVE amazon!!!!) :-)
I do know how to knit but I am not really that good at it. I am faster at crochet and it is easier for me. But for some weird reason I do find knitting more relaxing. At least as long as I am not hunting for lost stitches and stuff … :-D
    Thanks for showing this book!!!!

  13. here from FN and let me say…..that counting book is adorable! ooh, and can’t wait to see your creations of ‘mug hugs’ :)

  14. I love ordering books/supplies/treats from lands far far away! It’s such a great surprise when they arrive weeks later in the mail!

  16. This makes me want to learn to knit too! (but I’ve already attempted about 5x now, and it just won’t stick). I so want some mug cozies with big vintage buttons. Love that book! Looks like it was worth the long distance order. :)

  17. aww, i love these. i actually just got one TODAY from one of my best friends! she crocheted it, though. see here… http://flic.kr/p/95hT5R oh and i’m totally stealing some of your organizing ideas. i just got a sewing machine a couple weeks ago and need to set up our office area for sewing now :)
