Blurb Instagram book.

When I went to Blissdom Canada I was given a coupon from Blurb and used it literally, in the last few hours before the coupon expired. Since I had only the time I was willing to stay awake that night I made a quick Instagram Photo Book.

It was super easy. You just connect with your Instagram stream and pick and choose the photos you want in your book. You can mess around with the order, choose the cover, it’s all pretty awesome.

Then at check out you can easily choose to duplicate the book, for a gift or such.

Great little read.

That image kinda of sums up my life right now. Only I’m not sure I can see the ‘where I want to be’ side, I don’t know what it is. But I know I’m supposed to jump somewhere, which is scary enough, I guess it’s even scarier when you don’t know where the somewhere is.

So I read Steal like an Artist by Austin Kleon. It’s a quick read but full of “10 things nobody told you about being creative” I found many nuggets of wisdom in this book. It’s also very visual and full of drawings and shout out statements like this one.

Some people online were criticizing it, I suppose for his use of the word ‘steal’ and how the subtitle implies he’s advocating it. But once you read it you’ll see we’re all already ‘stealing’ and he just gives names to things we’re already doing and I found suggested some new and awesome ideas I hadn’t even considered yet.

Definitely worth a few dollars and an hour or two to read it.

Stuffed magazine

Apparently, not only has this publication been around for a while, but it’s only published twice (?) a year. But I have to tell you it’s the cutest magazine, full of such eye candy.

I had one in my hand during one of my cross border expeditions but I passed on actually purchasing it. I regret that now. It’s hard to find now since it’s published in January, and I’ve found it once here in Canada and it was $15 which just sort of breaks my brain and I can’t part with all that money for it.

I did find a download for a bit cheaper online, well I think it was $10 so not *that* remarkably cheaper.

I tried to be a cheater pants and take screen shots of parts of it but they seem to be onto that sneaky trick. You’ll just have to trust me it’s a super fun magazine. Find a copy and flip through it.
