Cozy break for a keychain pouch!

Made this last night as a way of productively procrastinating. I have to make even more cozies than I thought now that I have to replace the load I took to Cup of Tea. I’ve also got some orders in the last few days to fill. I needed a creative break.

So I turned to my favourite pattern maker and whipped something up.

I added the button, which I’m not too sure about. I wasn’t entirely sold on the velcro idea but I guess there’s a reason Keyka Lou is the pattern maker and I just sew stuff!

I’m such a creature of habit, doesn’t it look familiar?

Pouch madness!!

The lovely ladies I worked with in my classroom love flip flops and someone brought in a little clutch and they thought it was really cute.  I instantly recognised it as one from KeykaLou and so, any excuse to shop, off I went to buy the pattern!

I had a harder time than I thought finding flip flop fabric but etsy pulled through for me.

The pattern was really easy to follow and I’m a sucker for bags, totes and now clutches soooooo I made some more. At the last minute, I think it was Thursday, I decided to make some for my BFF to use on her wedding day and for me to carry with my dress. I managed to make 2, I wanted to keep going but ran out of the clasps. I used some of my cute Michael Miller lovebird fabric. At the last moment I added some ribbon to turn them into wristlets. Had I thought of it earlier I could have made all the ladies in the wedding one, oh well.

Here’s mine with the shoes I was supposed to wear but didn’t (more on that later).

The rocking factor of my bff.

Oh it’s high let me tell you! She ordered some fabric from poppyseed fabrics on etsy and said a surprise was coming for me too. It finally arrived and today for our Tuesday night together she brought it out. It’s some beautiful Michael Miller prints. She ordered enough to make the Keyka Lou bag and some fat quarters.

These ones are for me *little happy dance*  Trees AND giraffes, I love it.

Now to find something I can make with them.

Thanks Lindsey!

A little while ago I entered The Great Fabric Stash Giveaway over at Living with Lindsey. She was cleaning up and ever so generously offered to GIVE SOME AWAY! for free!! It was an amazing offer. So I set my iphone to remind me of her post and while my 3 year old was getting his hair cut I was sitting and listing my choices and trying to scroll on a teeny tiny screen. Here’s a few of her offerings.

Amy Butler and Michael Miller no less!! Once I got home to my big screen I checked the comments before mine and it seemed all my choices had been spoken for. I was sad. But luck was on my side because I got an email and was offered one of the scraps. Lindsey was such a troopper packaging and shipping all those goodies to give away. Here’s a peek at all the work she had to do.

So sometime last week my fun little fabric arrived in the mail! I would have been happy with anything, but this colourful letterful print is super fitting for this crafty little teacher.

Michael Miller in my mailbox!!

Well not really, I’m sure he wouldn’t fit, but his adorable new fabrics do!!

I couldn’t decide which ones I wanted so I just ended up ordering all 4 of the ones I really loved.  Fabric names are Gold Lovebird, Black Mini Mushrooms, Aqua Hedgehog Heaven and Amber Ellie.  Ordered from The Dizzy Daisy on Etsy. It was a pleasure to convo and shop with her.
