Covert robin goodies.

My gifts arrived a while ago, like a few weeks, I’ve just been so busy with life, sewing and trips to NYC that I haven’t had time to get back to writing about it!

You may recall I made these great sewing kits and sent one to my Covert Robin partner Cassie.

Here are the goodies that arrived for me. And I am ridiculously embarrassed because I cannot find her blog or anything useful to link back to her! Grrrrr.

An awesome little tote, a t-shirt scarf (had never seen/heard of one of those before) and a great pin cushion mason jar full of crafting odds and ends.

I love the sketchy look of the bunting with colourful scraps and the free form stitching.

Hello from my bed

I got home Sunday and I’ve pretty much been useless since.
Monday I was just tired from the trip.
Tuesday I felt off and came home at noon, fed the kids and had a nap before I could carry on with my day.
Wednesday morning at work was a blur. I came home and went straight to bed and woke up around 5.
I’m not sure what the kids did in that time, I remember putting a movie on, and them asking to go outside, I was so out of it.
Last night was terrible, fever, chills, sweats, many naps . . . I called in sick today and counted on having a couch day all to myself while the kids were at the sitter’s. But as things got worse I headed to the clinic. Which led to the lab and ate up most of my day.

They think I picked up some crazy stomach bug while in NYC. Silly public bathrooms and airplanes! I just took the first pill of my prescription and now I’m going to have that couch time while the kids play outside and hope it starts working ASAP!

I’ve even been too sick to blog, so you know it must be bad! So my apologies for disappearing, promise I’m still here and I’ll be sharing more Etsy/NYC fun once I can handle it.

Happy dance and shout out.

Hello everyone, just wanted to take a moment to fill you all in on some exciting things going on for me. I’m sure you’ve heard I’m heading to Etsy this week, I’m sooo exicted. Not only do I get to go spend a day with creative types at the Etsy HQ I also was lucky enough to receive one of the corporate ‘scholarships’ Etsy was given by some generous companies! So thanks to Outright a portion of my travel expenses are going to be covered, which is super great. They also interviewed me and will be featuring me on their site, and I’ll get to talk to them in person while in New York.

Along with that I’m just wrapping up some details on my contribution to a crafty ebook that’s coming out soon. I’ve been invited to NYC again in April for a special TV event, but I think I’ll wait to say more once things are finalized. I spent some time playing with this HTML stuff last night and I fancied some things up around here. Sadly, my programmer hubby went to bed before I did so I’m not sure what’s up with the ‘Contact’ page, don’t go there yet. I’ve updated my DIYs and hope to get to the CreateAlongs and Friends pages soon.

2012 is turning out to be a great year for SewTara and we’re only approaching spring! I can’t wait for more great opportunities.

That said I’d like to shout out for anyone wishing to hop on the train and be a sponsor on SewTara for April. Info and stats are here.

I’d be so thrilled to have you!

Giveaway!

Margot of Newfoundlander at Heart is generously offering some great items for one lucky reader.

Here’s what’s up for grabs:
– Large Ad Space for April (300×200)
– 5×7 print of winner’s choice from the shop.

Please visit the shop or her blog and let me know here in the comments what your favourite item is. I’ll choose a winner Wednesday night and announce on Thursday.

If you can’t wait there’s also a coupon code, you know, for being one of my friends, NEW20 for 20% off, in celebration of all the new items this month!

In case you haven’t heard,

I’m going to Etsy, not the site (I do that many times on a daily basis) but the actual building in Brooklyn, New York! If you follow me on Twitter or Facebook you’ve already heard this, a few times, but now I’m sharing it here.

I applied to the Etsy Success Symposium and was invited to attend. It’s super exciting. Of course it also left me scrambling with a way to get to Brooklyn for the weekend, but that’s ok. I’ll have some time to wander Brooklyn and the surrounding area.

If anyone knows any fun, cool, crafty, creative, inspiring or ‘things not in Canada’ things I should do or see I’d welcome suggestions. I’ve been to NYC 3 times already, plus I’m not really into traditional touristy things. I’d rather find some fun fabric, or washi tape, or an awesome place to sit and have a tea with wifi and a comfy chair!

Cuckoo for Wild Olive

That’s no big secret, Mollie is just super awesome. I was very happy for her when I saw her featured in the past issue of Mollie Makes. Plus, like a weenie, I also chucked at Mollie being featured in Mollie.

I printed out her cuckoo clock pattern and set to work making this hoop art for my craft space.

If you’ve never seen Mollie Makes you are missing out on a very pretty and inspirational part of life! It’s a magazine from the UK and while I’ve never had the privledge of holding a paper copy I do have a digital subscription(also in the app store) with Zinio.

If you’d like to get Mollie’s cuckoo clock pattern it’s available here in her shop.
