The breath in-between.

Well are you all done with the Christmas and holiday fun? Gearing up for the New Year celebrations?

It’s been hectic over here with all the family things and Nate’s birthday and that Christmas thing . . . it’s nice to still have a week off before it’s back to school time. I plan on using it quietly and creatively.

Oh and finish up this 200 cup cozy order I’ve got on the go. My forearm muscles are already tender from the cutting I’ve been doing, and I’ve only got half of it cut. Once again, I need minions.

Giveaway over there.

I’m taking part in a giveaway hosted by Caitlin over at Fierce and Fabulous! Here’s her post and a chance to enter to win some ad spaces for January.

I am honored to present some fabulous bloggers who I not only swoon over but have generously offered to give a few ad spaces to their blog! If you’re looking for some more traffic to your blog then this Giveaway is for you!

Good luck everyone!

A new journey.

I finally got around to reading Making an Impression by Geninne Zlatkis. I took it with me to my overnight spa trip. So it was prefaced with a few hours quiet time, then I laid in bed with some music on, on a belly, in my jammies and read the book with my shiny new sketchbook right beside me.

I’m dying to get into stamping and printing my own fabrics, I’m collecting ideas on this Pinterest board. I’m making an effort to work hard at researching techniques and gathering ideas and inspiration.

It didn’t take long to flip through the book and soak up all the lovely images. In about an hour I filled the first page of my sketchbook with doodles of possible stamps, designs for fabric and new cup cozies! I really have to make more time in my busy life to do this again.

If you’re looking to get inspired along the same lines visit Geninne’s blog for some great ideas and pretty, pretty images.

Hey wanna swap ads?

I’ve been a terrible slacker with running any sort of ‘sponsor’ program. I haven’t pushed it really. Mostly because I thought I wasn’t giving people the time and effort they should have for paying for an ad. So let’s kick off 2013 with some ad swapping!

180 x 180 square ads and 180 x 100 rectangle ads are available. Just click here choose your ad size and enter the promo code SWAPSIES on Passionfruits site. There are 3 square ads and 6 rectangle ads available, ads will run for 30 days starting January 1st.

I’ll have a chance to go and approve your ad and you can either email me or I’ll track you down and we can work out my ad for your blog.

It’s important to share the love.

Putting it out there.

Ok I guess in some wacky way this week seems to be about publically sharing my accomplishments and goals so I might as well carry on.  I’m working on another Etsy shop. I’ve set it up, it’s got a pretty banner, a cute name and now it just awaits creations!

It’s going to feature all the clutches, wallets and purses I make using the wonderful Michelle Patterns and hopefully I’ll start to move into my own designs.

Over the Christmas Holidays I’m going to work away on the Design Your Own Handbag class.  Click the link for 50% off if you’d like to join in the fun. Eventually I want to move into making my own PDF patterns and helping others to create great stuff. First learning graphics is on my list . . . oh and fabric design . . . and stamp carving . . and . .

Woohoo! Go me!

Ok I’m doing that thing where I post terribly quality photos on my blog.  It’s a big huge faux pas that no one should do.  In my defence I’m posting school photos while weren’t taken by me and I tried to fix the quality . . . yeah anyhow.

The point of posting them is to show what a year of weight loss did for me.  From September 2011 to September 2012 I went down 35 pounds.  I know that’s a big number and I was super proud of myself but it sort of hit home when our new class picture arrived.

I only started in January 2012 when we got back from our vacation and the past few months have been slow going but I’m still really proud of myself and pleased with the difference.

Just had to take a brag break.  You can resume your online shopping and holiday stressing.

I absolutely love the geometric nature of her designs.

Also, pilule these paint chip table linens are so fun, order placemats and napkins.

Life is hard, cue the retail therapy.

So yeah, I’ve been having some troubles in my life. It hasn’t been too fun. Sometimes life is hard. Kids are hard, marriage is hard, then you have to work and function on top of all that. Fun times. I had a bit of a run on my shop recently, lots of orders (which is also sometimes hard to keep up with) so I treated myself to some Etsy items. Thought I’d share. I know it’s probably too late to hit these shops in time for the holidays but you might find something you like, or hey, maybe you’ll get en Etsy gift card!

This has yet to arrive but I’m so in love with it. I’m on a mission to accessorize, it’s going well.

These bangles are much prettier in person. They arrived yesterday, I wore them out last night and then today to work. Everyone commented on them. Very simple and pretty.

Em & Sprout have the best shirts. I’m in trouble now that I know my exact size. I also ordered this one.

Finally, I treated myself to some art by the wonderful Lucky Jackson. Not only does she make amazing things she’s such a wonderfully nice person!

Thank you thank you thank you!

Thank you to everyone who stopped by and entered for my Giveaway Day post. It’s always nice to have new people pop by and of course, new blogs to go check out. Also thank you to those of you who went ahead and liked my Facebook page, yes I crossed the magical 500 number and it makes me smile to look at that.

Sooooo Mr Stache will be finding a new home with Rikki!

And Mr Glasses will be wandering off to live with Beth.

Based on the response to these little fellows I think I’ll have to get coordinated to make sure they are in the shop for next holiday season!

Found these fun hand painted phone covers by Onard’s while browsing at a craft show.

They also make some fun pendant necklaces.
