Quilting as you go spill over.

I’m completely and utterly enjoying my Craftsy Patchwork Quilt as You Go class, it’s ridiculously fun and informative.

I’m still working on my bag but I was looking through the mountain of scraps that was laid out in my workspace and I glimpsed this girl and was insipired to use the techniques to whip up a scrappy cup cozy.

I even got brave and tried some free motion quilting outlining on the girl and unicorn. I wasn’t very precise wiht it, just wanted to sort of go around the outline and big features. It’s such a cool effect. It didn’t take long to quilt some straight lines and free motion parts but boy does it make a big difference on the cozy. Sort of turns it into a little one of a kind work of art!

I think I may have found a new favourite quick and scrap busting project!

Whew.

No really whew.

I’ll admit it, I was bad and there was some procrastination involved, but the cozies did ship on time. My poor fingers, my poor wrist, my poor forearm from all that cutting . . . My poor friend Joanna who came over Monday night to be my minion when I needed help desperately.

There was a day when I was sent an email asking if I handmade my cozies because he was thinking of ordering 2000-4000 of them. After a ‘OH NO WAY!’ moment I thought, “Wait, if I just spent a week going hardcore on making them I could probably do it . . that’s a lot of money”. Having made 200 I doubt I’d survive! The personal injury that would follow would just be insane.

But silver lining, soon 200 new to me people will be holding one of my cup cozies. I made a mysterious event extra special and I did get some money for it all. Now to get on with the teeny tiny but just as important orders I have left in my shop.

Thank you thank you thank you!

Thank you to everyone who stopped by and entered for my Giveaway Day post. It’s always nice to have new people pop by and of course, new blogs to go check out. Also thank you to those of you who went ahead and liked my Facebook page, yes I crossed the magical 500 number and it makes me smile to look at that.

Sooooo Mr Stache will be finding a new home with Rikki!

And Mr Glasses will be wandering off to live with Beth.

Based on the response to these little fellows I think I’ll have to get coordinated to make sure they are in the shop for next holiday season!

It’s Giveaway day!!

Yipee!!!! I love this day.

For the past few I’ve been super lucky and for some reason or another been home on Giveaway day and had time to enter every thing I wanted to. This year, sadly I’m at work. But I can participate!

I’d like to give 2 lucky winners these cute cup cozies! They’re from the beginnings of SewTara and are sort of my early designs. For my awesome now designs, go here. I made them for the first Christmas season I had my shop but never got around to actually listing them in time. So there they sat and strangely, before I knew it was going to be Giveaway Day I had them out to giveaway myself in a boring lonely post. This is way better.

They are reversible and have this fun holiday themed print on the inside.

Please leave a comment below, let me know if you’d rather proudly sport Mr Glasses on your cup or Mr Stache. Perhaps I’ll whip some up for next year. I’ll email the first winner and let them choose and then the second name I draw will just have to settle for what’s left.

No hoops to jump through just leave a comment by 8pm EST on Friday, December 7, but sharing the love and spreading the word around the internet is appreciated. OH and I’m ridiculously close to 500 likes on my Facebook page and I’d really like to just gaze at that number, even if you unlike it the next day, I won’t know, it doesn’t tell me. Honest. And don’t forget to go enter all the other giveaways being hosted!

Movember is coming, Movember is coming.

While at Blissdom Canada I had the lovely pleasure of meeting Caron while on the Movember excursion. I had actually missed the excursion I had chosen but managed to tag along with my roomie and another awesome friend.

About Movember. Taken from this info page.

On Movember 1st, guys register at Movember.com with a clean-shaven face. For the rest of the month, these selfless and generous men, known as Mo Bros, groom, trim and wax their way into the annals of fine moustachery. Supported by the women in their lives, Mo Sistas, Movember Mo Bros raise funds by seeking out sponsorship for their Mo-growing efforts.

Mo Bros effectively become walking, talking billboards for the 30 days of November. Through their actions and words, they raise awareness by prompting private and public conversation around the often ignored issue of men’s health.

At the end of the month, Mo Bros and Mo Sistas celebrate their gallantry and valor by either throwing their own Movember party or attending one of the infamous Gala Partés held around the world by Movember, for Movember.

For the month of November I’ll be donating $4 from the sale of my moustache cozies.

Donations can also be made directly through My Movember page.

New cozy design.

I had a custom order that involed this sort of idea a while back. Then I handstitched it for the order but since then I decided to make a screen print of it. But then it was the great ‘to cute face’ or ‘not to cute face’ debate.

I decided on the cute face. I blame this on knowing Mollie.

Kinda old news now but still cool

Did you see my cozy in the Etsy finds email? I’m the first little thumbnail!

That’s the second time I’ve popped up in the Etsy finds. I heart the community and sharing the love that goes on on Etsy.

Silly new cozy.

I don’t even remember how but I stumbled up on LittleRedAfro’s Etsy shop one day and saw this really funny little painting she had done.

I contacted her and asked her if she minded me putting it on a cozy. She said go ahead and just let the world know it was her idea. So behold my cozy based on her little painting.

I think it’s pretty funny, but I’ve got a dorky sense of humour. I’m making one for her as a thank you for letting me have some fun with her design. If you want one you can get one here.

Funny Haha

Sometimes I’m silly. Like when I thought up, made and photographed these.

I’m ridiculously tired right now but I’ll be adding these to my shop in the morning.
I’m a nut.
