Hair fun . . . or Fun hair?

I decided to live a little for the summer and got all wild and crazy with my hair! My apologies for the crazily formatted pictures.

I didn’t advertise my plans to many people, just in case I chickened out in the end. But I went through with it, and I love it! It caused quiet the stir today with the kids at school, but it was the last day so why not have a bit of fun.

It’s only been 24 hours so I don’t have the best pics just yet but I wanted to share.

Friday night and my Spinograph.

Well I am so glad I ran out of work straight after bus duty and went on an adventure to attend an Etsy event organized by EtsyCA.

I had a great time, got to meet Nada again, the Etsy employee here in Canada. I met her in Brooklyn which is sort of funny. It was a day of, “Oh you’re from Canada! Have you met Nada?!” since we were the only 2 Canadians in the room at the Success Symposium.

I also made this great video. It’s pretty silly, I got dizzy at the end and had to stop. Plus I was sort of taking up the sidewalk standing with my arms out and spinning around and around.

The people that you meet.

While it can be discouraging when you spend your day at a table with your wares and maybe it doesn’t turn out as you had hoped I usually love the vibe and people at craft shows. Even if no one buys anything you’re bound to hear some compliments. At the last show I was beside this lovely lady and this gentleman and we had a fun day.

The weather was wonky, dark clouds one moment, sunny the next, and downpour in between, but we kept smiling and supported each other. I thanked all the people for coming out on such a cool, icky June day. A ton of my cards & magnets were scooped up and I had a quick run around and saw some neat stuff.

I’m in love with the shirts this lady creates!

I grabbed cards and would like to share the love and show you some of the things I liked about the First Sunday Stroll. Please click images if you like what you see and you’ll be whisked away to more work by these fine artists.

My weekend.

I’m going to be here.

It’s on Sunday and it’s a rain or shine event so I’m crossing my fingers for the shine! We’re making an overnight trip of it and after coordinating the childcare shifts we’re heading out on Saturday and enjoying a night in Niagara Falls. It’s one of those date things I hear so much about.

I am sort of Friday Create Alonging

I just finished a purse using this pattern. It’s the For Pleat’s Sake Tote from Lisa Lam of UHandbag. That’s her tote in the picture not mine. She has a great free tutorial section as well as PDF patterns for sale. She’s also got some great books about making bags and purses, the second one is coming out next week. They also sell hardware for sewing the projects on the site.

I’m making it as part of a fun feature on Michelle Patterns this week where we had to make something from one of our Pinterest boards. I’m in the process of editing my ‘Craft Lovliness‘ board and seprating it into things I actually intend to create and things that inspire me. I’ve had this bag in mind for a while so I set to work making it. You can check out what other bloggers have made over on Michelle’s blog and I’ll reveal mine on Friday.

Photography tips.

I’ve been tossing around the idea of a tablet and instead decided to devote some time to playing with my iPad to see if it can meet my needs. Elsie wrote this great post about helpful apps and I investigated those and got a few that will work for me.

Recently I found this blog and in clicking around found Violet’s great post about taking wonderful pictures. She has some really simple tips and tricks to help you get there.

Sometimes I look back at my earliest blog posts and I can’t believe my photos. I’ve learned so much in the few years I’ve been running my blog, mostly just through trial and error. There are soooo many talented people blogging out there you can find someone who has already struggled with some sort of creative process and it’s really easy to learn a thing or two.

Giveaway Day!!

Yipee!! It’s giveaway day!!

So I’m going to give away a scrappy wallet! Just like the ones in the photos, but I’ve got to make it still. I promise it will be super fun and wallety. Leave your entry below and make sure there’s a way for me to contact you. The winner will be chosen at the end of this week.

Happy bonus weekend day!

Well, that is if you’re like me and lucky enough to get a day off today.

I’m attempting to catch up on orders and projects and emails and laundry . . . .
It’s a gorgeous day so I haven’t seen my children in hours, they’re house hopping around the neighbourhood playing with various other school-less children. Isn’t warm sunny weather great!

Happy Monday everyone.

There’s a cotton candy machine in my van

Really there is.

I’m going to bed early to be all bright eyed and busy tailed for tomorrow.
I work in the am and then I’ve got to juggle my children around a bit while setting up for community day. It’s going to be one crazy day for me!

If anyone has this please find a way to share!

Well today my Martha appearance aired. My friend from all events Etsy, Amy of TinyGiraffe, says we were in the first 20 minutes quite a few times.

Here’s my professional shot from the end of the show. It’s posted on the Martha Stewart site. I’m hoping they get everyone’s picture up, I really wanted to check everyone out.

We watched a How To by this lovely lady and we were given her book along with some materials to give it a try.
