Came into the kitchen the other day and discovered this,
Don’t know what exactly it was that Wesley was ‘creating’ but it was pretty funny. I’m hoping to get some creating of my own done today.
Happy long weekend everyone!

Well not really, I’m sure he wouldn’t fit, but his adorable new fabrics do!!
I couldn’t decide which ones I wanted so I just ended up ordering all 4 of the ones I really loved. Fabric names are Gold Lovebird, Black Mini Mushrooms, Aqua Hedgehog Heaven and Amber Ellie. Ordered from The Dizzy Daisy on Etsy. It was a pleasure to convo and shop with her.

A little while back I signed up for Happy Mail (which was a blast) and ended up with Cristina as a partner. Crazily enough, she lives really, really close and just so happens to run this super cool web site, Craftee.
If you’re into jewlery, a craft that for some reason intimidates me, there’s a great by Kaitlin on how to turn a not so loved piece into some other items.
The site also provides useful links to other awesome crafty things, like how to make these fabric coloured thumbtacks over at , something I totally need to try.
If you’re feeling ambitious you can even submit your own crafty articles. So head over, click around see!
Today was a really, really rough day at work. I know I only work every other day, and this week was my 2 day week but today was worth about a month of full day every day work! But I need not burden you with tales from my classroom, instead I’ll share the fun package that was waiting for me in my mailbox when I get home.
This fun stuff, my fabric and ribbon.
I purchased it from here, silly etsy and the ease of clicking to make purchases.
Plus, gotta love all the little free fabric squares that were with my order, freebies are fun.
I’ve been so excited thinking about all the fun things I have coming in the mail it totally slipped my mind that my cards were coming too! It’s funny they arrived today because just this morning I checked Missy’s site to see when she mailed them. Not only were there 1o awesome new to me cards in the package but the package itself was sooo pretty!
There were 10 neat cards inside. I was really fun to see what everyone made and some of the techniques they used.
Here’s a closer view of some of my favs. Loving the little monsters from Cat, I have to find this stamp set! The little girl one is just super cute (pleeeeaaaaase tell me who made it someone!). I love the idea of making a pinwheel out of double sided paper, simple and neat. The flower card was made on fabric complete with beads and stitching. The last one was just so nice and colourful, complete with sparkles, thanks Lorrain!
Thank you Cynthia, I’m embarrassed to say I don’t remember which card your info fell out of!
I should have taken a photo of the ones I sent out. I did get an email from Robin telling me she liked my card.
Still lagging behind the group’s schedule on this one BUT I did manage to get all my pieces cut out. I’ve got 2 bags on the go right now, both of which I’m supposed to be sewing with a someone else but I keep thinking, ‘oh I’ll just do one more step’. I’m just too itchy to do a new to me project right now. So here’s what I’ve got so far.
And a closer view of my prints.
I’m going to go sew the pleats, just the pleats.
This time I’m over here at The Monster and Me. Check out their fun blog and enter my giveaway! Up for grabs this time is a medium Kool Aid Jammer tote.

Here’s what happened this morning, I logged into my SewTara email and oh what’s this a new message. Oh from the publisher of Handmade Beginnings, oh you found my blog and saw my post and WANT TO SEND ME A FREE COPY OF THE BOOK!!?!?!?!
Click ‘reply’. ‘Why yes that would be lovely!’ (Note: not what I said at all I was way more excited and goofy)
So how cool is that?!?!! I can’t wait to get it and start a project . . . or two!
Also, I’ve gotten my first sponsor spot over at Wild Olive. I’m also being featured this month . . . . Wow, life’s getting eventful.
Well I had a blast at the Mom 2 Mom sale yesterday! Met a lot of great people, sold some things and had a great morning. It was slow for me for the first little bit, I think people were running like mad to the used goods tables hoping to beat the crowds to the amazing finds. As the morning went on I had some sales and then there was a big rush on my table at one point, it was great!
Made a great connection with a fellow teacher (Hi Allison!) who loved my Kool Aid Jammer totes. She just finished a unit on recycling and thought her class would think they were pretty awesome. I can’t believe I hadn’t thought about this before, but we got talking and got to her saving them in her classroom and sending them to me! She said she sees tons go in the garbage in her class. I should put the word out to more of my fellow teacher friends.
I meant to take a picture of my table as I was so impressed with my price signs and colourful product but I just didn’t get a chance. I do however have pictures from my last sale, courtesy of my friend Joanna.
Went to the bookstore Thursday while Wesley was at pre-school, figured I’d let Nate play at the Thomas table there without a big brother taking all the fun toys. Strangely enough, he usually just ends up playing beside some 3 year old who acts like Wesley. Or wandering around. I swear he doesn’t really know what to do with toys he is usually being ordered around or redirected.
I flipped through Handmade Beginnings while I waited. I must have it. Lots of willpower was used in the non-buying of this book. There’s been too much shopping lately. It is however near the top of my wishlist now! There’s a great pillow pattern in there and an awesome hide and seek quilt as well. Anna Maria Horner also have a nifty little blog as well as another book.
