My pumpkin family

We went to a farm on the weekend.  They are just opening to the public really, and selling organic grass fed beef and such.  There was a jumping castle and wagon rides and all sort of family fun.  One of the things was a ‘decorate a pumpkin’ table.  Being the only female, aside from a cat, in the house kinda stinks sometimes.  I COULDN’T get any of my wonderful boys to come over and make a pumpkin.  Sooooo I decided to go ahead and make 4 pumpkins all by myself.

I know I posted about this already but I can’t resist some more . . .

Emily has the most fun stuff in her mega giveaway right now!

Here are some of the things making their way onto my wishlist.

This one has most of my favs. The camera tote from Jo Totes, the crafty books, and the fun print that’s begging to be put in my craft space.

Another fun print.

Sadly for us poor little Canadians, you have to be a US resident to enter. Perhaps you can bribe a friend you have across the border :)

Camp themed swap stuff!

I’ve been a bad blog owner, forgive me. My fun package for the Camp Themed Swap that Amanda so willingly ran for me and a group of lucky ladies arrived . . . . 2 Fridays ago. It took me until Sunday to even open the package, I’ve been sooooo busy lately it’s been insane. Hence the blog absence. I’ve been frantically making cup cozies, yes still! Everywhere I go I’m pulling out some stitching, it’s a little crazy. I’ve finally made it into my September orders and I only have about 20 more to make. I sat around all summer on vacation and of course my shop had to go viral (for the second time) right when it was back to school time!

Anyhow, enough ranting, here’s what I’m supposed to be writing about, my haul!

Going across the rows – back row –  a fun mixed media painting, a print of a drawing of three bears camping and some awesome hoop art with a happy camper.

Middle-ish my log pin cushion, a CAMPO game, a fun floral case for glasses, some camp themed stationary, a crocheted flower hair thingie, and a heart shaped box.

Front-ish – a little note book with graph paper and camp themed stickers in it, a compass hair pin, a firefly keychain, a button ring,  brown bear earrings, and a signed original piece of art work.

All placed on top of a vintage pillow case sending me happy camping wishes!

Here’s some close ups,

It was such a fun thing to be involved in.  At first I wondered what on earth we would all come up with for camp themed crafts (especially as someone who’s never been camping) but we did all right!

Fun stuff from Renegade Craft Fair.

Ok, once again taking far to long for this but here’s some of the fun stuff I picked up in Chicago at the craft fair.

This beautiful necklace is from Isette. I thought it was perfect, especially for a teacher.

These sticker by Hello Wars is awesome! I had a hard time choosing just one. Then I remembered I only had a spot for one on my lappy. Decision made.

I got a fun grab bag from Reuse First full of paper crafts and fun things made from scavenged papers.

I got this awesome card from Kate Funk. It was hard to decide she has quite the fun selection.

I LOVE this one too.

I also got this fun shirt for my hubby.

I caved.

I debated buying this when I saw it in the Costco magazine but since I only recently bought a used Cricut from someone for $75 I thought it was a bit excessive.  Then I went out to be crafty with some people Friday night and they were all raving about it.  *sigh*  My arm was twisted.  Plus it’s my birthday this week so I consider it a gift to myself.

There’s too much to list all the features here, click the image to go to the link and see it all for yourself.  Even just the little summary makes it worth the price!  “Set includes: 1 Cricut Expression® personal electronic cutter and 1 YourStory® book binder and laminator” Now to watch the mailbox all week!

The Cricut Expression is the 12 x 12 model, so right there it’s larger than the one I currently have. It also comes with 2 cartridges, which is awesome, the Storybook one and the Essential Accents one. I sense there will be some fun to be had!

So anyone want to buy a slightly used in box Cricut machine?

Renegade fun, yeah a week later.

Honest I did drive to Chicago, well mostly I passengered, but I was there!  Here’s my 1 pic to prove it.

Yep, that’s it the one picture I took at the craft fair.  We just got so busy wandering around and looking at all the cool stuff I didn’t really take the camera out again.  Silly me.  I even stopped at the RVA booth and met Elsie, again no pic. Add to that the fact it’s taken me a whole week to write about the trip and I’m kind of failing at this road trip documenting thing.  I’ve been soooo busy with back to school-ness, catching up on orders and just life in general!

I did manage to get some pictures of the city though.

We walked a whole ton!  I was a big party pooper and didn’t want to pay $16 to head up the Willis Tower, I’m sorry bff, forgive me.  So we did a lot of wandering and general checking things out.  There was, of course, a stop for deep dish pizza.  It was INSANELY HUGE!  The picture doesn’t do it justice but it was basically like a huge piece of pie only it was pizza.

After struggling to eat 2 slices each we left with the other 2 in a take out container and wandered the streets.  Realising we’d have no where to put our pizza on our 9 hour road trip home and night in a hotel we passed it on to a homeless man.  He asked for change and we gave him pizza.

I loved the way the subway ran on top of the streets, I know it’s probably not really that awesome but it was new to me and therefore cool.

We kept walking around as it got dark, despite the fact that we still had a 4+hour drive to our hotel room.  I really wanted to check out Navy Pier but, foolishly, I led us in the general direction of it which proved to be a dead end street that was on much higher ground than the pier, and separated from it by 2 highways.  Next time Chicago.

I’ll find some time this week to share my purchases and some link love for the fun sellers I saw.

In a faraway land . . .

well to me, Ms Muffins over in Germany is dedicating her blog to all things tea this month! Here’s how I fit in.

She’s had some really cute ideas so far, including this lovely gem. Tutorial for the wreath is here.

This is super fun too, great way to use thrifted finds! Tutorial here.

Can’t wait to see what else she posts! There might even be some giveaways! I mean, I’m just saying . . . there might be ;)

A moment to blog about buttons,

Because despite a gazillion sales in my shop right now I need to do something else other than make a cup cozy!

So here are some of the fun buttons I picked up the other day.

The flowery ones are meant to be dyed, look so I  may have to try that.

Due to many sales, my hubby being away until Monday, and lack of the card reader for the camera posts may be scarce until next week :)

Teehee!

Thanks to some linky love from Mollie over at Wild Olive I’ve found some new blogs floating around the net.  Here’s something awesome I stumbled upon the other day over at the Quilted Cupcake.  Isn’t it so fun?!

I just might have to ‘transform’ my Singer now.  It’s my ‘juice pouch’ sewing machine now that I have a fancy pants Babylock.  Might be fun to dress it up a bit.

Another part of my day in Toronto, Mokuba!

While wandering Queen street we spotted some ribbon through a store window and figured, as crafty gals, it might be a fun store. So we went it and couldn’t believe it. Mokuba is an entire store of ribbon!! Lace, trim, ribbon, ruffles, frilly stuff . . . it was crazy. It’s a huge normal store sized store just full of shelves and rolls and bins of ribbon!

Strangely enough I didn’t actually need anything but I did wander through and snap some pictures on my phone.
