Top secret project sort of revealed!

Wild Olive and I are going to tease you.  We’ve been working on something together for a while now and we’ll tell you all about it on Monday but why not give you a peek now?

My cup cozy is in the ‘procrastinate’ position.

Weeeeell, maybe it hasn’t been all procrastinate I have been busy with my shop but that was only since July.  Remember my counting books?  I posted about them in . . . months ago.  A big part of the problem was running out of osenburg, which I have only found at Joann’s craft stores so that means a cross boarder trip.  When I went in September I bough 10 yards of it.  I should be good for a while.

Last night I buckled down and finished one for someone.  She asked for 2 of them so I’m hoping to get the other one done this weekend.  And spidey senses must have been tingling in my area because just randomly 2 other friends asked where the books are for their babies.  So I’ve got a little To Do list for this weekend and those counting books are on it!  Along with a few other things of course.

Here are some shots of Mya’s counting book.

I finished it at about 11:30 but wasn’t happy with the size of the first few pages, somehow the pages were getting bigger at towards the back.  So I did some stitch ripping and re-sewing until the wee hours.

Thanks to my fancy pants new to me sewing machine I was able to add some fun, and time saving touches.

I also got creative with the tactile side of things and put this fun stuffed cupcake on the first page.

Finished off with my lovely labels, which are iron on but I sewed them as well because I like that look.

Camp themed swap stuff!

I’ve been a bad blog owner, forgive me. My fun package for the Camp Themed Swap that Amanda so willingly ran for me and a group of lucky ladies arrived . . . . 2 Fridays ago. It took me until Sunday to even open the package, I’ve been sooooo busy lately it’s been insane. Hence the blog absence. I’ve been frantically making cup cozies, yes still! Everywhere I go I’m pulling out some stitching, it’s a little crazy. I’ve finally made it into my September orders and I only have about 20 more to make. I sat around all summer on vacation and of course my shop had to go viral (for the second time) right when it was back to school time!

Anyhow, enough ranting, here’s what I’m supposed to be writing about, my haul!

Going across the rows – back row –  a fun mixed media painting, a print of a drawing of three bears camping and some awesome hoop art with a happy camper.

Middle-ish my log pin cushion, a CAMPO game, a fun floral case for glasses, some camp themed stationary, a crocheted flower hair thingie, and a heart shaped box.

Front-ish – a little note book with graph paper and camp themed stickers in it, a compass hair pin, a firefly keychain, a button ring,  brown bear earrings, and a signed original piece of art work.

All placed on top of a vintage pillow case sending me happy camping wishes!

Here’s some close ups,

It was such a fun thing to be involved in.  At first I wondered what on earth we would all come up with for camp themed crafts (especially as someone who’s never been camping) but we did all right!

Giveaway!!

Woohoo!! Head over here and enter a giveaway to win one of my lovely cup cozies.

You just have to visit my shop and then leave Ms Muffins a comment about which one you like best! Giveaway closed September 28th.

Another part of my day in Toronto, Mokuba!

While wandering Queen street we spotted some ribbon through a store window and figured, as crafty gals, it might be a fun store. So we went it and couldn’t believe it. Mokuba is an entire store of ribbon!! Lace, trim, ribbon, ruffles, frilly stuff . . . it was crazy. It’s a huge normal store sized store just full of shelves and rolls and bins of ribbon!

Strangely enough I didn’t actually need anything but I did wander through and snap some pictures on my phone.

Girly Handmade Beginnings pants this time!

I was so happy to get to pick out some fun and girl-ish stuff to make for the lovely baby Samantha.  I also got fancy and appliqued some t-shirts to go with the reversible pants.  Needed a nice thoughtful gift and a break from being a pillow factory.

You can’t really see but there are little brown, pink and white birds on the first pants.  I added some brown with white polka dot fabric to the inside to make rolling up the pant legs more fun.  On the second pair of pants I actually cut the leg shorter and added that bank of green apple fabric so when she grows bigger and can’t roll up the pant legs they’ll still look like they have a fun contrasting cuff.

Now I just have to get her counting book all done! :)

Where have I been?

Doing this!

It’s been a busy few days around here. The funny thing is it’s been great for creativity and ideas are just popping into my head constantly now. The downside is I have to jot them down and get to them later now that there’s orders to make and ship. It’s hetic and the pressure is on but at the same time I’m having a blast. I could use a maid though, the house isn’t surviving this creative spurt too well!

I also managed to sneak out to 2 yard sales on Saturday, since I only had Nate with me I thought I’d stop at some as I meandered over to the Grandparents. I hit jackpot! I have to snap some pictures but I picked up the most awesome vintage suitcase and an amazing train case type thing that’s actually a bar in a case. I was pretty surprised at my luck. I think I have to make more time for yard sale-ing in the future.

Ok, I have an idea I have to get out of my head before going to bed, hopefully before the single digits!

Mid New Year’s resolution!

Here I was earlier this month worried about what cake I could make my hubby for his birthday to top the over 150 000 hits the image of his cake got last year! All I had to do was make a pillow apparently. So I pledge to end up posting something fun to the wonderful internet each year that will get oodles and oodles of hits.

I’ve accomplished my mission for 2010. Now I’ll just make fun stuff for the rest of this year and worry about 2011 in January. Here’s my latest creation. It makes me giggle.

Oh I’m not sure I’ll have a Friday find. I’ve been caught off guard this week and haven’t really had time to think/search the web.

Triple Double Rainbow pillows!

Apparently my double rainbow pillow has been making some rounds on facebook!  Now it’s like domninoes, my etsy store is getting some link love.  I’m getting emails asking me to make more.  As I list them they’re selling!  It’s crazy!

Thanks Facebook, as if you didn’t already steal enough of my time guess what I have to do all weekend!  :)

Double Rainbow geekery and a shop update.

I’ve got waaaaay too many ideas right now for the amount of hours that are in a day! I can’t keep up. But I’m trying really, really hard.
Of course that means staying up silly late after the kids are in bed to finish things. Last night I managed to tidy up the ends of a few projects and today I actually accomplished listing them in my store even! I feel like I done good. Here’s some of the things I listed.
